What do you do when you realize someone in your favorite band is an avid home cook? You ask them to teach a virtual cooking class!

And that is how this class came about. It will be taught by Evan Cranley of Broken Social Scene and Stars. When I lived in Los Angeles I was lucky enough to see Broken Social Scene many times. This year, I was lucky enough that they stopped in Denver for a show.

In this online cooking class, we will be making fish cakes with poached fish and potatoes and a caper vinaigrette. We will also be making a pasta dish with kale and a currant and pine nut relish.

We came up with the menu for this class after I scrolled through Evan’s Instagram posts (like mine, it’s almost all food). I suggested a handful of things I would want to learn and we narrowed it down to these two dishes. We can easily complete them in a live cooking class, and none of the ingredients are too hard to find. And it’s going to be delicious!

What are we making in this virtual cooking class?
